To Residents of Sedgefield:
Tomorrow is Election Day. True to form, my opponents are attempting to stir the pot with more lies and innuendo especially with the latest email from Sedgefield President with regards to the latest lies about Glaxo Smith – Kline building. As you may know, a company called Garden Homes recently purchased the property. My opponent fraudulently stated on his Facebook page that I personally brokered the deal. My opponent lied to you about that along with many other things as well. The latest lie is that Mosberg is buying the building to build apartments. This is another lie designed to scare you into voting for my opponent.
I do agree that you should be scared, but only if Michael Soriano is elected. The fact is that Soriano has accepted tens of thousands of dollars from developers who want to build multifamily residential housing all over Parsippany. Mr. Soriano even accepted $7,800.00 from Mack Cali’s lead representatives in Parsippany. The fact that Soriano owes Mack Cali is disturbing to say the least. Unlike my opponent, I have provided proof of my assertions in my mailers so that the voters can distinguish fact from fiction. My opponent has not done the same.
My opponent has no experience in local government and he has never served Parsippany in any way whatsoever. My opponent offers no plan for our future and no vision for our community; and yet he runs for Mayor. Why? Through my opponent’s actions, his reason for running is clear. He is a proxy for developers and other special interests. Soriano takes money from Mack Cali’s interests. How is that good for Sedgefield? Obviously, it’s not! My opponent is in bed with former disgraced Parsippany police officer James Carifi. Why? Because Carifi knows that Soriano will want to give him the $4.3 Million that a jury of his peers would not. How is that good for Parsippany? Obviously it’s not!
Lastly, I must address the behavior of Sedgefield’s President, Carols Guzman. Mr. Guzman has been actively working against me ever since I wouldn’t bend town rules to suit his personal interests. Mr. Guzman thinks that he should have been given special treatment because he is the President of Sedgefield. Mr. Guzman is so annoyed that I have applied the laws and policies of our town evenhandedly that he has turned foe against me. I have a proven record of working for Parsippany and evenly and fairly applying our laws and policies to all of us. Sometimes, people like Mr. Guzman expect special favors because they are in leadership positions. I don’t operate that way. I believe that people in leadership positions should have a heightened responsibility to serve their constituents rather than themselves. Mr. Guzman and I have a philosophical difference of opinion in this regard.
So tomorrow, by voting for me and my team you will be voting for the team that puts the interests of Parsippany first. For me, that’s not a slogan, it’s the way I have conducted myself in office these past eight years and it is the way I will conduct myself the next four years. So tomorrow, Tuesday, November 7th, vote Barberio for Mayor, and Valori and Fererra for Council.
