Mayor Sandham of Montville recently sent a letter to me threatening litigation because he thinks Montville should share in Parsippany’s sewer surplus. I have three points to make in response.
First, Mayor Sandham should have called me before sending a threatening letter but he never did.
Second, Mayor Sandham did not cite any authority in support of his position because his position is without merit.
Third, attached is Parsippany’s response letter from our Township attorney to Montville’s, outlining Parsippany’s position. Specifically, our attorney expresses why Mayor Sandham’s letter is misguided. Notwithstanding Montville’s baseless position, we have asked our auditor to prepare an audit to ensure that all parties, including Montville, are being treated in accordance with our contract and past course of dealing. I hope that future Montville Mayor’s will call me to discuss issues of concern before sending threatening letters. We have had a good relationship with Montville and look forward to continuing and strengthening our relationship going forward
