Parsippany, NJ – Protecting the environment is a necessity that everyone must contribute toward to help curb the effects of global warming. To help promote Environmental Awareness, on March 19, 2017, BAPS Charities hosted a Health Awareness Lecture on the topic in Parsippany, NJ.
Mr. Hardik Patel explained that our everyday actions or inactions could be contributing to the growing problem of global warming. Taking extended hot showers, leaving lights, on or even driving alone instead of carpooling all incrementally take a toll on the environment. Participants learned that climate change not only has an impact on the environment but also a subsequent impact on our health. Air pollution can lead to asthma and cardiovascular disease, water quality issues can lead to increased cases of cholera, and severe weather can lead to increased injuries and fatalities. Environmental awareness is recognizing these items and consciously taking steps in our daily activities to help minimize their impact. Following the mantra of reduce, reuse, recycle, adding insulation to more efficiently regulate home temperatures, using energy efficient appliances and light bulbs, and simply turning off lights when not in use are just some of the things we can do to save the environment for future generations. As an organization, BAPS Charities is also committed to the cause through its Walk Green campaign and contributions to the Nature Conservancy.
