April 8th was a wonderful day for Walter and Stella Beard who celebrated their 90th birthdays at the Reservoir Tavern in Parsippany. Mayor Barberio was on hand to deliver birthday certificates to the couple who have long resided on Marmora Drive.
Mayor Barberio stated; “I have know the Beard’s for years and I am happy for them. Most of the time I see Stella at Shop Rite in Parsippany while I am shopping. She is always so kind. Happy Birthday Walter and Stella.”
An added treat for Walter, who is a World War II veteran, was to have members of the American Legion and VFW stop by with American flags, a birthday certificate and lots of nice things to say. VFW members included Richard Kunz, John Flavin and Gary Erdmann. Matt Adamczyk represented the American Legion. Fun was had by the entire Beard family.
