On May 22, 2017, Mayor Barberio had the pleasure of presenting the Parsippany High School Varsity Girls Softball team with certificates honoring them in their new role as the 2017 Morris County Softball Champions.
The team, coached by Greg Cleary, has an outstanding record of 23-6 and is currently tied for first place with Hanover Park in the North West Athletic Conference.
Those honored at the May 22nd Council meeting were Luisa Barone, Julia Vincent, Megan Leitner, Alivia Mercuro, Gabriella Gennarelli, Claudia Bennett, Sarah Waffenfeld, Julia Del Viscio, Paige Kaiser, Caitlin Brennan, Alyssa Feola, Carly Homler, Michelle Ebel, Lilianna Vidal, Victoria Freire, Coach Cleary and Assistant Coaches Steve Miller and Gionna Florey.
“The wealth of talent on this team is amazing and the coaching is impeccable. Parsippany is very proud of them and we see many more successes in their future”, stated Mayor Barberio.
