Parsippany Sons of Italy has Successful Golf Outing!

The Order of Sons of Italy in America is a fraternal organization of Italian-Americans whose primary interest has been to preserve their Italian Heritage and to be the very best of what is to be Italian-American. They are the largest and longest established Italian-American organization in the country. Sons of Italy has devoted their Lodges to assisting those in need and encouraging educational achievement through scholarships. They have become philanthropist and model citizens who go out into the community and participate in activities and fundraising to benefit their fellow man. Their programs perpetuate the legacy of their traditions and their dedication to helping those less fortunate. Lodge 2561 of Parsippany/Morris County is especially active in the area and very well-known and appreciated for their efforts.

On July 6th, Lodge 2561 held their annual golf outing and major fundraiser at the Knoll West Country Club. With 128 golfers and 160 for dinner, the event was a smashing success raising a total of $10,000. The proceeds from the outing will be used to purchase gift cards from area stores to donate to local charitable organizations. Some of the recipients of Sons of Italy’s generosity have been Parsippany Day Care Center, Parsippany Food Pantry, JBWS, the Valerie Fund, various scholarships and families in need.

Lodge 2561 is known for their selfless deeds – not just at holiday time, but all year long. They are popular fixtures at many fundraisers where they can be seen in the kitchen cooking up pasta and meatballs to benefit other organizations willing to help the community.

To become a member of this outstanding organization, please contact president Joseph Jannarone at 973-632-4765. Lodge 2561 meets monthly and holds dinner meetings at local restaurants on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm to discuss fundraising. They welcome guests and look forward to enlisting new members whose humanitarian efforts will add to their long list of altruistic deeds.
