Storm Update From Parsippany Police Department

*STORM UPGRADED TO A BLIZZARD FOR OUR AREA**

So here are the updates for everyone as of 5:55 PM:

•New Jersey has declared a State of Emergency.
•We are under a blizzard warning. That means strong gusting winds, limited visibility due to blowing snow, deep snow drifts, and probable power outages will occur due to the heavy snow. Stay inside and do not drive during the storm.
•Possible snow totals have been bumped up to over 20 inches
•Parsippany Municipal Court, Parsippany Town Hall, NJ State Offices, Morris County Offices, and Parsippany Public Schools are all closed for Tuesday 3/14/17
•DPW will not be collecting garbage or recycling on 3/14
•No parking on Township Roads are permitted. If you are parked on a public street you will be ticketed and towed. If you usually park your vehicle on a township roadway, please plan ahead and speak to friends or family with driveway space so you can move your vehicle prior to the storm.If you have an issue parking off the roadway, please move your vehicles to any commuter lot, park and ride or the public library parking lots.
•NJ Transit buses will stop operating at 11:59 PM tonight (3/13)

Again, we ask you to please stay off the roadways tomorrow. You may think you can make it to your destination, but if you fail and get into a motor vehicle crash or become disabled, then you put the first responders in jeopardy who have to come assist you.

Unless something drastically changes in the coming hours, this will be the last update until tomorrow morning.
