Parsippany Named Tree City USA for 41st year in a row

Parsippany, NJ – On April 28, Second grade students from Rockaway Meadow and Knollwood Schools performed at the Township’s 41st Arbor Day ceremony. Once again, the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills was designated a Tree City.

Mayor Barberio welcomed the crowd and Superintendent of Parks & Forestry served as master of ceremonies. The Rockaway Meadow students read a poem entitled, “Arbor Day” and the Knollwood students sang “The Way We Plant a Tree” and “I’m a Young Tiny Tree”. Jack Shuart presented Mayor Barberio with the Tree City flag honoring 41 years. Councilman Mike DePiero and Council President, Lou Valori, were also in attendance.
